Director's Statement

When I set out to write this short I wanted to take a break from comedy and make a legitimately terrifying horror film. A book I read on how to write horror films recommended I write down all my fears and base my film around the one that scared me the most. I only wrote down one fear, but it was bone chilling nonetheless: Deciding whether or not to have children.

Obviously that subject matter wasn't the freaky thriller I was hoping for, but the thought of having a kid is still scary to any sane person. So in hopes of understanding why I feel that way, my friends and I turned it into a campy 80s horror comedy spoof.  Special Delivery lays out all the reasonable  and completely selfish reasons for not having kids, manifest into a stork puppet trying to deliver some 30 year olds a baby. Asking the viewer are they ready to raise their own hell?
